Fact sheets on youth homelessness
NYCH believes that homelessness can be solved however the solution must be based on robust needs based analysis. Accurate information is vital for strong policy and practice based responses –these fact sheets attempt to assist people in understanding the dimensions of youth homelessness across Australia.
Latest data, reports and research papers
The Homelessness Information Clearinghouse is an online tool designed to help tackle homelessness in Australia. This site is available to share resources, ideas and information. The Homelessness Clearinghouse is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs. It is a large suppository of information about homelessness in Australia as well as providing opportunities to participate in sharing ideas and debating concepts on how we can end homelessness.
Other resources on youth homelessness
Cool Australia has some curriculum resources for teachers to raise the issue of youth homelessness with Year 9 and 10 students. The units are for English and Health and Physical Education classes and based on the The OASIS documentary by Shark Island Productions Film.
